Position Summary:
Supervise staffing personnel including selection, termination, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary counseling, personnel actions, scheduling and work assignments, support staff and participate in organizational initiatives. Responsible for staff compliance with policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* TRAINING - Assist the supervisor with staff development planning; develops and implements department in-services for staff
* SUPERVISION - Assign and monitor shift responsibilities and provision of department procedures to ensure compliance with departmental, personnel, and hospital policies and procedures
* SUPERVISION - Performs evaluations; assists with counseling and disciplinary actions
* PATIENT CARE - Assist with the development, implementation and revision of protocols, and operating policies and procedures for the program in conjunction with the supervisor and Medical Director
* OBJECTIVES - Set specific standards, objectives, and competencies for department; monitor departmental performance
* SCHEDULING - Responsible for the scheduling of float personnel and staffing coordinators
* SUPERVISION - Responsible for the direct supervision of casual pool and float pool staff
* REPORTS - Assist in the compilation of data for month-end staffing trend reports
* EDUCATION - Ensure continuing education of licensed staff
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives

* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
* RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
Physical Conditions:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.
