Interim Team Manager Children with Disabilities

South Wales

£38 PAYE/£47.88 Umbrella in line with the ADSS pledge

An Interim Team Manager is required to join a South Wales Local Authority to oversee their Children with Disability team. This is a full time position offering hybrid working, office base is the Guildhall in Swansea. This role offers an initial 3 month contract covering a period of sickness.

The team supports Children and Families who have a permanent and substantial disability, taking them through the assessment process and providing targeted support through preventative services or care and support planning as appropriate. Identifying and managing any safeguarding risks and having responsibility for disabled children who are looked after.

The primary duties of the role are:

  • To provide the leadership, management and co-ordination of the Social Work team or where relevant multi-disciplinary team;
  • To safeguard and promote the wellbeing of vulnerable people including children/young people through the provision of high-quality Social Work or where relevant multi-disciplinary practice in assessment, interventions, care/support planning and review;
  • To mentor and develop professional practice within teams through the delivery of advice, guidance and support to social work practitioners and other professional disciplines within teams where relevant;
  • To ensure that the statutory requirements placed upon the division, in terms of legislation, policies and procedures, regulations, regulatory requirements and standards are complied with and met;
  • To comply with Safeguarding procedures and practices;

In this role you will have management oversight of Practice Leads of the Pods within the Children with Disabilities service.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Significant experience of managing complex cases, staff supervision and management
  • Knowledge of working with the SOS methodology
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
